John Michael “Mike” McAlpine, age 76 of Demopolis died July 2, 2024 at Woodhaven Manor Nursing Home in Demopolis. He was born August 18, 1947 in Demopolis to Robert Johnston and Dora Helena McAlpine. He was a member of First Baptist Church Demopolis.

He is survived by his wife, Anna McAlpine; three children, John M. McAlpine, Jr. (Mandy), Mary McAlpine Long (William), and James “Jim” McAlpine (Stephanie); two stepchildren, Staci A. Curtiss (Russ) and Allan Allday (Carrie); brother, Robert Watson McAlpine (Betty); fourteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Johnston and Dora Helena McAlpine, and brother, William Johnston “Bo” McAlpine.

Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church Demopolis on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Carl Williams officiating.  Burial followed at Demopolis Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers were John Champion, Vince Mosley, John Harrison, Jay Reynolds, Doug McAlpine, J. W. McAlpine and Wyatt McAlpine.
