Demopolis High School is sending another athlete to the next level.
Senior Dalyn Jackson has signed a letter of intent to play football at the University of West Alabama in Livingston.
Demopolis head coach Lance Tucker said UWA is getting great teammate.
“First of all, he’s one of the best team players that I’ve ever coached,” Tucker said. “He’s all about putting the team first. Who doesn’t want a kid like that in their program?”
Jackson was a two-year starter for the Tigers. He was named to all-state first team and the Tuscaloosa News all-area second team, finishing his senior campaign with 66 receptions for 1,251 yards and eight touchdowns. In his junior year, Jackson had 34 catches for 763 yards with 10 touchdowns, including an 84-yard touchdown catch as his season long.
In addition to him being a great teammate, Tucker said Jackson is a hard worker, and Tucker believes that’s something that helps make their program successful, setting an example for the younger players.
“They look up to guys like Dayln, and they see how hard he works,” Tucker said. “They tell themselves that if I can work as hard as they did, then I can get to the next level like he did.”
