Willie Marion Jackson age 94 of Thomasville passed away Friday, March 1, at SAAD Retreat in Mobile. He was born July 19, 1929 to William R. and Gertrude Jackson. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator prior to starting his own company, Willie Jackson Construction and Concrete Plant. He enjoyed fishing and deer hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Emerleen B. Jackson; children, Boyd Jackson (Christian), Steve Jackson (Karen), and Pam Compton (Greg); grandchildren, Tonya Lolley (Steve), Hunter Jackson, (Brooke), Aubrey Ellis (Josh), and Jennifer Hall; great grandchildren, Lake Lolley, Bryce Lolley, Maize Lolley, Ryan Jackson, Henry Jackson, Emma Jackson, Grady Jackson, and Corlin Ellis; brother, Vivian Jackson (Dorothy); and sisters, Sally Hilderbrand and Lora Horn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William R. And Gertrude Jackson; daughter, Sherrie Jackson and an infant daughter and siblings, Inez Richardson, Betty Gregory, Christine Maddox, and Chester Jackson.
Memorial services were held at Southside Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 13.
