Richard Henry Hill, age 87 of Dixon Mills, died on Jan. 16 at his home. He was born on February 3, 1936 in Wayne, AL to Roy Reed Hill, Sr. and Katie Jones Hill. He was a retired maintenance supervisor with James River Corporation. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn B. Hill; sons, Richard G. Hill (Lisa), James Edward Hill (Debbie); Roy Wayne Hill, and Daniel W. Hill; daughter, Judy H. Harwell (Dave); seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and seven step grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Jan. 20 with Dr. Kenneth Fields, Eddie Hill, and Rev. Lister Hill officiating. Burial followed at Shiloh Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Brandon Hill, Matt Hill, Heath Hill, Ty Harwell, Dawson Hill, Austin Hill, Rabe Hale, and Wyatt Hale.

Honorary pallbearers were Walter Cannon, Jimmy Tate, Buddy Stephens, Calvin Etheridge, Billy Jones, Adam Reeves, Nate Sherve, David Sheffield, Melvin Dixon, Jimmy Stewart, and Derek Glass.
