A Demopolis man has been charged with capital murder in a 2021 Tuscaloosa homicide case.
Tuscaloosa County’s Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) has arrested Quentin Hudson, 23, of Demopolis, for his involvement in the shooting death of Versaun Leonard, a 19-year old Tuscaloosa teenager, in June 2021. Leonard was murdered in the 3200 block of Willow Lane.
The VCU investigated the case, and within the same month, arrested three other suspects from Marengo County. Brenygha Edwards, of Demopolis, Justin Jenkins, of Linden, and Quartavius Hudson, also of Linden, were each charged with capital murder. The four involved were attempting to rob Leonard.
The VCU continued their investigation over the last year with the District Attorney’s Office. VCU Capt. Jack Kennedy said investigators with the VCU, Tuscaloosa County District Attorney’s Office, and the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Cyber Intel Unit worked together to identify Hudson as the fourth suspect.
Hudson turned himself into the police in Montgomery last week after the Sheriff’s Office got a warrant for his arrest.
Hudson has been booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail without bond.
