Psalm 95:2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
Ps.100:2 Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
One of the love languages is “words of affirmation.” I don’t mean flattery. Flattery is empty words. My emotion tank is filled when someone gives a sincere compliment to me.
Would not God, creator of the universe, desire praise and appreciation for all He does for His creation? Isn’t that why He created man and woman? In Genesis, we read about God walking in the garden with His new friends.
Spending time with the Lord means more than a few minutes in prayer and Bible reading. Sorry if I burst someone’s bubble. Time is the greatest gift we can give someone. When we spend time in the presence of a friend or loved one, we are telling them they are precious to us. We value them. They are important to us.
The Lord says, “Come into His presence with thanksgiving in your heart.” Psalm 95:2
He desires our “presence” and we ought to desire His presence also. How much time are we giving to the one who gave His life for us?
Thanksgiving – being grateful, giving praise – is the first place I want to begin. God has blessed us so often with His grace. We, however, seem to forget to tell Him thanks.
The best way we can thank Him is by our praises.
“God inhabits the praises of His people.” Psalms 22:3
That is, God enjoys it when His children praise Him.
