After seeing a huge success last fall, Main Street Demopolis is bringing Bark in the Park back for a second year. This year’s event is expected to be bigger than before, with fun beginning at 5:30 p.m. and going until 8:30 p.m.
Main Street, a non-profit organization focused on preserving downtown’s historic buildings, creating jobs, reviving the downtown business district, and creating a sense of place unique to Demopolis, hosted its first Bark in the Park in 2022. After generating so much community interest, organizers decided that the event would become an annual fall activity in Demopolis.
The event will take place in Public Square where pet owners and their dogs have plenty of space to run and play.
Like last year, vendors will be set up to sell food and merchandise. Participants may bring their own beverages (BYOP) And musical entertainment will be provided by The Brett McDaniel Duo.
Organizers want to remind everyone of the Main Street’s Best Friend contest, a competition where dogs are judged on which one was the best friend at the event.
“Don’t miss your dog’s chance to become Main Street’s Best Friend!” said organizers posted on social media. “Many thanks to Demopolis Animal Clinic for sponsoring this fantastic event!”
Last year’s winner was a spunky puppy named Copper who had her image printed on t-shirts sold to commemorate the first Bark in the Park.
