Marengo Panthers fall to St. Luke’s 31-0

The Marengo Panthers lost their Sept. 1 game against St. Luke’s Episcopal 31-0. St. Luke’s took control of the game early and never relinquished their lead.
St. Luke’s found the end zone three times in the second quarter, scored a field goal in the third quarter, and scored their last touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter.
Defensive stats for the Panthers saw Michael James with three tackles, Kewuan Sanders with two tackles, Devonte Tucker with four tackles, Jamarcus Battle with three tackles, Omar Autrey with nine tackles, and Jamarcus Bouler with eight tackles with one for a loss.
Toriano Kelly had two tackles with one for a loss, Centell Bruno has two tackles, O’Nealius Norwood had five tackles with one for a loss, and one interception, Jeremiah Bouler had five tackles, Jamarion Allen had one tackle, Jordan Moore had five tackles with one for a loss, King Fisher had five tackles, and Battle and Bruno both had one pass defended (PD) each.
On offense, Jeremiah Bouler completed three of 12 passes for 30 yards and had 17 rushing yards. James made one pass attempt that failed, had one interception, and six run for zero yards. Kelly had three runs for 20 rushing yards, Battle had three runs for four yards, and Norwood had one run for zero yards, and three receptions for 30 yards.
Fisher had one run for 8 yards, Jamann McCaskey had six runs for 45 yards, Omar Autrey had two runs for five yards, and Derrick Poellnitz had one run for a loss of five yards.
The Panthers will be at home again this Friday as they host the A.L. Johnson Eagles in their first region game of the season. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
