The Chick-fil-A McCalla food truck will sadly no longer be making appearances in Demopolis as it has been retired. The announcement was posted via Facebook on Aug. 30. The McCalla truck had been in service for seven years.
“With a lot of deliberation, we are retiring our food truck. We thank you for the years of allowing us to serve your communities,” the Facebook post read. “We have enjoyed traveling into over 20 different communities for one off events or regular monthly stops. Each community was a joy to our team. Thank you again for seven great years.”
The food truck began coming to Demopolis regularly in April 2022 after the Demopolis City Council passed a Food Truck Ordinance that allowed mobile vans to distribute food within city limits.
The truck quickly became popular and saw long lines from opening time to closing. It made appearances in the surrounding area such as Linden, Selma, and Sumter County.
