The Demopolis City Schools Foundation plays an integral role in enhancing the student’s classroom experience. For the past 30 years, the DCSF has made a difference in our local schools awarding over $1.1 million in classroom grants.
In her first year as director, Margaret Anne Gilchrest was able to help the foundation award over $50,000 in grants to support students and teachers in Demopolis classrooms. Through a competitive grant process, the foundation funds ideas that inspire excellence in its students and teachers each year – bringing much needed resources and programs into Demopolis classrooms.
Fall grants totaled at $20,809.13 with grants going to each school in the district. Grants went towards Music, STEM, Art, library books, technology, and hands-on learning. Spring grants totaled at $29,234.81 and went towards technology, STEM, hands-on learning, and literacy.
