The U.S. Jones Pool and Recreation held a graduation ceremony for its participants in summer swimming lessons on Thursday, July 27.

Knowing to swim is an important skill to have, but many children grow up never learning how to swim. At the U.S. Jones Pool, children learn the basics of swimming, and learn a crucial skill that could help them later on in life. The U.S. Jones Pool provides local children with a chance to learn and have fun at the same time.

Graduates this year were: Mason Smith, Trent Irby, Karman Dorsey, La’Treyvion Dorsey, Jaylen Heard, Grayson Jackson, Aiden Lewis, Brendan Rembert, Mizyah Banks, MacKenzie Banks, Amontae Harrism Nickleus Oden.

Lifeguards were LT Brown, Eric King Jr., Janiyah James, Van Brown, Albert Dixon, and Summer Almeda. Managers were Nicholas James, Eric King, and Edward Ward.

The Jones Pool is open Monday-Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for youth swimming lessons. Monday-Friday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. for general public swimming, and Monday 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for adult swimming lessons.
