The Linden Board of Education has received its scores for state testing and Superintendent Dr. Timothy Thurman expressed his satisfaction and excitement with the “dynamic” scores.
The second and third grade reading scores showed tremendous improvement. The second grade testing scored a 76.7, just below the state average of 78 percent. The state average for third grade is 76 percent and the Linden third grade class scored 83.3 percent.
“Our teachers and reading coaches have done an outstanding job,” said Thurman.
Board member Mitzi Gates said that the state’s average test scores fell two points, making Linden’s increase in third grade reading “that much more fantastic.”
