The Demopolis Board of Education recently held a special called meeting to approve agreements for DCS and the personnel report.

The first agreement was between DCS and Jose Tellez for Maintenance/Grounds keeping. The agreement was approved from a motion from Betsy Stephens and a second from Olen Kerby.

The second agreement was between DCS and Averette Painting in the amount of $22,600.00 and floor coverings by L and L Tile/Floor Coverings in the amount of 11,976.40, for upgrades to the DMS library. Carolyn Moore motioned to approve the agreements and Stephens seconded the motion.

The next agreement was with the University of West Alabama for Dual Enrollment for the 2023-24 school year. Stephens made the motion and it was seconded by Moore.

Stephens motioned to approve an agreement between DCS and Wallace Community College Selma for Dual Enrollment for the 2023-24 school year. The agreement was seconded by Moore.

A motion by Moore for approval of an agreement between DCS and Susan Hollinger and Associates for psychometric evaluations and gifted testing from June 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024, drew a second from Bobby Armstead. Motion carried unanimously.

By a motion from Kerby, a contract was awarded to Jones Construction Co. for miscellaneous summer repair work across the district. A second was voiced by Armstead with a unanimous approval by all.

A work session was scheduled for June 12 at 5:15 p.m. at the Demopolis BOE office. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be held on Thursday, June 22 at 5:15 p.m.
