When people think of summer in the south they think of three things: ice cream, iced tea, and watermelons. Watermelons are a summertime staple and the main attraction of the annual Watermelon Festival in Thomaston. This year’s festival will be on Saturday, June 24 and will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. The festival will be held at 21461 Range Street.

T-shirts for the Watermelon Festival are now available for pre-order. The shirts are Gildan Soft style t-shirts, the same brand that was used for last year’s festival. Please mail a check along with the size(s) needed to Thomaston Historical Foundation 6450 Lake Victoria Drive Theodore, AL. 36582.
