The Demopolis Police Department, as part of an ongoing investigation has conducted a search over the last couple of days. This search led to the location and recovery of what has been confirmed to be human remains. The identity of the remains has not yet been confirmed, but is being sent for the purpose of identification.

The Demopolis Police Department is being assisted by numerous agencies with this investigation to include, Texas EquuSearch Midwest. The Federal Bureau of Investigations, Jackson Police Department, 17th Circuit District Attorney’s office, Butler Police Department, Alabama Fusion Center and Homeland Security Investigations.
