Thomas Jackson Gross was born to Dr. Charles M. Gross and Christine Teichmiller Gross on September 1, 1931.  His childhood was rich with the blessings of a large family, a father, and a mother who believed all children should be given the gift to learn to work hard and love their family.

He graduated from Cullman County High School in May of 1950 and on September 2, 1950, he married the love of his life, Bonnie Ruth Daniel in Cullman Alabama. They moved to Gallion, Alabama, and soon had three sons, Terry, Charles, and Dale. Later, Michael McCaleb became a fourth son of Tom and Bonnie. He had a passion for working his farm and raising his boys. His word was his bond.  His first venture was with dairy cattle then he later changed to beef cattle. He took great pride in his cattle and the quality of his fields.  He was recognized as an Outstanding Grassland Farmer. He also worked at, Gulf States, for 36 years. He was a teacher, song leader, and Elder of the Linden Church of Christ for many years. He passed away on, June 4, 2022.

He leaves behind his wife, sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren who never doubted they were loved by him.  He passed down to his children and grandchildren the gift of learning to work hard and to love their family and God. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dr. Charles M. Gross and Christine Teichmiller Gross, and 3 brothers: Augustus Gus Gross, Buford Monroe Gross, and Perry Gross. He is survived by his wife of 71 years Bonnie Daniel Gross, his sons, Terry Jackson Gross (Kathleen), Donald Charles Gross, Thomas Dale Gross (Sarah), and Michael McCaleb (Carol), and 5 grandchildren: Kyle Gross (Kimberly), Laren Newman (Lucian), Kaley Albert, Charles Thomas Gross, and Parker Gross, 4 great-grandchildren: Addison Gross, Charles Thomas (Charlie) Gross, Baylor Albert, and Francis Newman, 5 sisters Katherine Millar, Rachel Schaefers (Theodore), Imogene Heatherly, (Raymond), Christine Livingston, (Michael) and Barbara Harper, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Graveside funeral services will be held at Flint Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Vinemont, AL at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 11, 2022.
