Marengo County EMA is encouraging residents to stay off the local roadways unless absolutely necessary.
Marengo County is classified as an elevated impact area through 9 p.m.
That means difficult travel conditions and sporadic power outages are planned.
The county is currently under a winter storm warning.
EMA Director Kevin McKinney said normally the county doesn’t close roads, but they may implement some impassable road advisories, if needed.
McKinney said the county has some trucks loaded with sand.
“If we put it out too early it will freeze,” he said.
Right now, it is just wet outside, he said.
The Demopolis Times will continue to update as the day goes along.
