Demopolis Tigers stomp Sipsey Valley Bears, 41-8

The Demopolis Tigers had no trouble defeating the visiting Sipsey Valley Bears. They scored the majority of their points in the first half of the game.
Craig Nichols got the ball rolling for the Tigers when he scored on a 3-yard run midway through the first quarter. Cole Wilson’s PAT gave the Tigers a 7-0 lead over the Bears with 7:26 left in the first quarter. Nichols scored again moments later on a 7-yard run with 4:58 left in the first quarter. Wilson’s PAT was good, and the Tigers led 14-0.
With just over a minute left in the first quarter, the Tigers increased their lead to 20-0 when quarterback Tyler Drake completed a 27-yard pass to Jaqualon Smith. Wilson’s PAT gave the Tigers a 21-0 lead with 0:45 left in the first quarter.
The Tigers wasted no time in the second quarter, and Kelvin Rowser ran the ball 20-yards for a Demopolis touchdown. Wilson’s extra kick was good, and the Tigers led 28-0 with 11:25 left in the second quarter.
With 9:17 left in the first half, Drake completed a 4-yard pass to Will Cork for another Demopolis touchdown. Wilson’s extra kick was blocked, leaving the Tigers score at 34-0 with 7:26 to go in the second quarter. The Bears finally got on the board near the end of the first half with a 1:14 left when Ben Allen ran 63-yards for the touchdown. Allen then ran the ball in for the two-point conversion and put the score a 34-8 at halftime.
The game’s final score came at the beginning of the third quarter when Drake connected with Peyton Stevenson for a 51-yard touchdown. Wilson’s last kick of the night brought the score to 41-8.
The Tigers (4-0, 2-0) will be at home again next week when they host the Shelby County Wildcats.
