We celebrate the home going of a mother, a sister, an aunt, and a friend.

Clarice (Ayers) Bates, 72, passed from this life, Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019 in Montgomery, Alabama.

Services are to be held Saturday, Sept. 28, 2 p.m. at St Paul Baptist Church in Demopolis. Rev. DeAyrus Smith Pastor with services officiated by Rev. Anderson Ayers Jr. Burial to take place in Ayers Cemetery in Gallion,  directed by Abernathy Funeral Home.

Clarice is preceded in death by her father, Anderson Ayers Sr.; mother, Clarice (Richardson) Ayers; and a son, James Bates Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Rensy and Carlos Bates; sisters, Prettie (Curtis) McMillian, Jacquelyn Tullis, Audrey (Samuel) Garrett; and a brother, Anderson (Earnestine) Ayers Jr.
