Mary Phares Williams was born May 3, 1926 in Moundville, Alabama and died Sept. 22, 2019 at Heritage Health Care in Tuscaloosa.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Norman Williams; parents, Joseph Edgar Sr. and Ida Bell Phares; sisters, Louise Phares of Birmingham, Doris Virginia (Nicky) Hoggle, Bellamy, Bessie Bell Kimbell (Roy) of Moundville.

She is survived by her brother, Joe Phares (Sandra) of Tuscaloosa; son, Larry Williams (Pat) of Tuscaloosa; daughters, Donna Mullins (Kris) of Demopolis, and Nancy Naff (Lon) of Birmingham; grandchildren, Michael Mullins (Kelley) of Demopolis, Krista Mullins of, Portland, Oregon, Amanda Sanford (Eric) of Denver, Colorado, and Rachel Hester (Eric) Flintstone, Georgia; and a great-granddaughter, Caroline Mullins of Demopolis.

Mary loved her family and even more, she loved the Lord. She was an active member of her church in Birmingham and served as church hostess. After retirement she enjoyed being a hostess to her friends and her Sunday night Bible study group. She was blessed to touch the lives of so many people.
