Pastor Milton ‘Mickey’ Grady Green

The Demopolis community sadly lost a pillar of influence Wednesday, Sept., 4 2019 with the passing of Pastor Milton “Mickey” Grady Green at 9:24 p.m. at Whitfield Regional Hospital.
Mickey was born to Milton and Dannie (Osmer) Green on August 6, 1946 in Uniontown, Alabama. He said that he was called to minister at the age of six. He pastored in Aberdeen and Waveland, Mississippi and moved to Demopolis in 1990 to pastor First Assembly, later named Church Aflame World Outreach Center. Bro. Green was one of the founding members of the Blackbelt Ministerial Association bringing different churches together. He served some time as chaplain for the Demopolis Police Department and Demopolis Fire and Rescue.
He is survived by his loving community of Demopolis; his wife, Marie Green; three children, Tina Pope (Michael), Valerie Wrensted (Johnny), Joshua Green (Bethany); brother, James “Jimmy” (Janet) Green; grandchildren, Justin Rivas, Gabby Lewis, Tyler Wrensted, Tiana Rivas, Jace Rivas, Alyssa Stewart, Carley Wrensted, Bella Green, Judah Green and their spouses; six great-grandchildren; and much-loved nephews, nieces and cousins.
A Celebration Of Life Service will be held Saturday, September 14, 2 p.m., at Church Aflame World Outreach Center, 431 Oasis Lane, Demopolis.
