The opening ceremony for the 14U Babe Ruth World Series was held Thursday, with a demonstration from the Silver Wings Command Exhibition Parachute Team from Fort Benning, Georgia.
Jill Tutt sang the national anthem and Rev. Tyler Chastain of Revival Worship Center gave the opening prayer.
Each team was introduced to the crowd followed by the World Series Host Committee. A player from Wahpeton (Midwest Plains Region Champion) read the Code of Conduct prior to Mayor John Laney throwing the first pitch.
As an opening to West Alabama’s first game against Wahpeton, Paul Miller of Foster Farms, a sponsor for the event, threw another pitch.
More information of the 14U Babe Ruth World Series will follow.
