Arthur Levard Dixon, 85, of Gallion died June 23, 2019 at his home. He was born April 17, 1934 in Sweet Water to Leo Leslie and Willie Flora Dixon. He was the former owner of Dixon Furniture Store and a member of Providence Baptist Church where he served as deacon.
He is survived by his son, Kevin Dixon (Carol) of Camden, Alabama; three daughters, Lisa Dixon Skelton (Bobby) of Tuscaloosa, Dee Ann Dixon Roark (Glenn) of Demopolis, and Jill Dixon Tutt (Webb) of Demopolis; sister, Edwena Dixon Barnes of Linden; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Providence Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 25, at 11 a.m. with Paul Whitcomb and Dr. David Stidham officiating. Burial followed at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Gallion.
Active Pallbearers were: Kevin Dixon, Cameron Brister, Brandon Roark, David Tutt, William Tutt, Robert Tutt, and Cooper Dixon.
Honorary Pallbearers were: Tommy Ray, Roger Burge, Kenneth Harrell, Butch King, Mike Smith, Carl Pugh, Buddy Lawrence, Rodney Allen, Webb Tutt, Bobby Skelton, Glenn Roark, Willie Frank Johnston, and members of the Adult Men’s Sunday School Class at Providence Baptist Church.
