Samuel Lynn “Sammy” Moses, 70, resided for the last two years of his life in Millbrook, Alabama. He was previously from Livingston, Alabama. Sammy attended Brookwood High School in the late 1960s.

Funeral services were held at Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel on September 13, 2018, at 11 a.m. with Rev. James Jackson officiating. Burial followed in Thomaston Cemetery with Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis directing.

Sammy was preceded in death by his father, Herman Moses Jr.; mother, Jeanette Moses; step-mother, Maxine Moses; brother, Kenneth Leroy Moses; sisters, Patricia Brush and Rita Moses; and grandparents, Herman and Rosie Moses Sr.

He is survived by his brothers, Rickey Moses (Jan) of Millbrook, Wayne Moses (Barbara) of Winnsboro, Texas, Tommy Scott of Tuscaloosa, and Mike Scott of Tuscaloosa; sisters, Gloria Vickers (Chauncey) of Samantha, Alabama, Donna Wilcher (David) of Sandersville, Georgia and Debra Palmer of Demopolis; nieces, Emily Moses of Millbrook, Katelyn Moses of Millbrook, Nancey Mcilwain of Gilbertown, Alabama, Stacey Evans of Tuscaloosa, Evelyn Elliott of Texas, Dora Moses of Birmingham, Sherri Kemp of Tuscaloosa, Jennifer Seller of Illinois and Shelly McHone of Illinois; nephews, Jeremy Wolfmeir of Illinois, Barry Vickers of California, Donald Roy Moses of Texas, Gregory Buford of Iowa Park, Texas, Cecil Charlton Buford III of Mobile, and Quaylon Buford of Colorado; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be Chauncey Vickers, James Moses, Chuck Buford, David Wilcher, Rickey Moses, Richard Moses and Alan Bobo.
