James Wayland “Jimmy” Young, age 76, of Sweet Water, died August 10, 2018 at his home.
Mr. Young was born Sept. 25, 1941 in Selma to Willie Greer and Irene Young. He was a retired equipment operator.
He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Renee Young; son, James Wesley (Nicole) Young; sister, Barbara Hurt; two grandchildren, Kirstin Taylor Young and Jayden Whittley Young; niece, Amy Hurt Parr; nephew, Jason Hurt; and his two beloved dogs, Patches and Amos.
Funeral services were held at Campground United Methodist Church on Thursday, August 16, at 10 a.m. with Kelly Etheridge Jr. officiating. Burial was at Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery in Sweet Water.
Active pallbearers were: Bob Etheridge, Mark Lowery, Kevin Lowery, Clay Nettles, Jason Hurt, and Jim Parr.
Honorary Pallbearers were: Roy Etheridge Sr., Billy Rentz, Don Thrash, Charles Tucker, Gene Tolbert, Johnny Bullock, R. D. Tyler, Alan Sharpe, Jeff Nettles, Mark Williams, and Eddie Ray Williams.
Memorials may be made to the Bigbee Humane Society in Demopolis.
