Dale Hunt Young, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at her home.
She was a native of Mississippi and was a longtime resident of Marengo County. For many years, she worked at Ellis V restaurant in Demopolis.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ted Hunt; a daughter, Janice Shannon; a sister, Jean Parker; a brother, Charles Shepherd; and her parents, Dale Shepherd and Ethel Shepherd McGee.
Survivors include her husband, Harvey Young of Linden; two sons, Shag Shannon and Butch Shannon, both of Meridian, Miss.; two daughters, Lynn Tucker (Gerald) Watts of Forkland and Michelle (Terry) Vice of Linden; a brother, Ray McGee of Boligee; a sister, Faye Culbertson of Pensacola, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Dot Hunt Ruzie of Ooltewah, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Feb. 19, at 2 p.m. at the Forkland United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lowell Thomas officiating. Burial was at Forkland Cemetery. Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors of Demopolis directed the services.
