Bulldogs holds on for win against DHS, 11-10

In the regular season finale for the Demopolis High School baseball team, the Tigers suffered a last inning heartbreaker to the defending 1A State Champion Sweet Water Bulldogs, 11-10.
The game was tied at 10 until the top of the seventh inning after Trent Sams singled, ultimately stealing third, and the scoring what proved to be the winning run on a sacrifice flyout.
The Tigers made a run at in the bottom half of the inning as Peyton Geary doubled and was moved to third on a bunt.
But, Sweet Water senior Jonah Smith retired the final two batters to secure the win for the Bulldogs.
Demopolis was led offensively by Davis Petrey who had a three RBI night and Hudson Holley finished with two RBIs.
Sweet Water was lead offensively by Shemar Lewis who had a homerun and drove in four.
The Tigers hosted Marbury High School for the first round of the state playoffs Friday in a best two of three series.
Sweet Water also hosted the first round of the playoffs, welcoming Highland Home, in a best two out of three.
