Betty Cross

Betty Walters Cross, age 64, of Linden passed away on June 17, 2010, at UAB Hospital West in Bessemer.
She was born on Sept. 8, 1945, in Demopolis. She was a retired teacher, a member of Linden United Methodist Church and the Business and Professional Women’s Club of Linden.
Survivors include her stepfather, Ralph Hoard of Los Angeles, Calif.; a stepson, Wayne (Lynn) Cross of Linden; two stepdaughters, Wanda (Taylor) Dunklin of Demopolis and Sherry (Winn) Westbrook of Montgomery; four brothers, James Lorimer (Linda) Walters of Linden, Michael (Lisa) Walters of Spring Hill, Stanley Walters of Linden and Eric (Cindi) Hoard of Los Angeles; a sister, Deborah Payton of Abbeville; two nieces, Jami (Freddie) Webb of Demopolis and Erin Walters of Columbus, Miss.; three nephews, Jimmy Walters of Linden, Charles (Gillian) Walters of Durham, N.C., and John Walters of Tuscaloosa; seven grandchildren and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Funeral services were held at Linden United Methodist Church on Monday, June 20, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Ray Bass officiating. Burial was at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Gallion. O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Linden directed the services.
Active pallnbearers were Wade Drinkard, Taylor Dunklin and Wayne Cross.
