Robert Lee Cox, 79, of Demopolis died Dec. 25, 2017 at home. 

Services were held at Fairhaven Baptist Church on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017 at 3 p.m., with Pastor Scott Stevens officiating. Visitation was one hour prior to the service. Burial followed at Demopolis Memorial Gardens with Kirk Funeral Homes presiding.

Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his parents, Odie P. Cox and Edna Green Cox. 

He is survived by his brother, L.D. Cox of Indiana; sister, Mary Evelyn Chambers of Ohio; and wife of 60 years, Judith “Judy” Ruth Cox. Their union leaves three surviving children: son, Robert Leroy “Toby” (Joan) Cox of Prattville; daughters,  Connie Cox (Terry) Brown and Pamela Cox (Greg) Morgan of Demopolis; grandchildren, Amy (Adam) Keenum, Chad (Alyssa) Morgan, Ben Brown, Toni (Travis) Tyus, Parker (Nikki) Sanford, Dustin (Amy) Cox, Rob Brown, and Victoria (Hunter) LaPointe; 10 great-grandchildren; significant loved ones, nieces and nephews.

Grandsons, along with great-grandson, Luke Keenum, served as Active Pallbearers.

Honorary Pallbearers were Fairhaven Men’s 4 Sunday School Class members.

Mr. Cox was an active member of Fairhaven Baptist Church and retired after over 40 years of service in Wastewater Treatment. He was a loving, caring Daddy and Popa to his family, and a good friend to those who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
