Drawing provides 100 turkeys during giveaway at Vowell’s Fresh Market
Turkey Day came a little early at Vowell’s Fresh Market where on Tuesday turkeys were passed out to the lucky winners of the annual Steve Harvey Turkey Toss.
The event was sponsored locally by Dixie Country and The River 98.5/100.1 radio stations and Vowell’s Fresh Market. Registration for the free turkeys began at 11 a.m. and at noon names were drawn for the prize turkeys.
In the hour before the drawing, about 200 people registered for a free turkey. The drawing allowed for only one registration per household.
Each of the 100 winners received a 30-pound turkey provided by Steve and Marjorie Harvey and Vowell’s Fresh Market provided a bag of groceries to each to help round out a perfect Thanksgiving feast.
Steve Harvey is a syndicated morning radio host, comedian, author and television host. In all, Harvey is giving away 8,000 turkeys across the nation.
