After approving a loan to Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital at its previous meeting, the Demopolis City Council has voted again on the measure adding more details.
During a council meeting Thursday, the council voted unanimously, with one member absent, to loan the hospital $110,000 which will be used for roofing repairs, according to Councilman Charles Jones.
The council discussed terms of the loan, which will include a lower interest rate than previously discussed, going from 6 percent to 3.5, for 10 years with the first payment to become due in 12 months.
The council also set up a committee to review golf cart legislation used by another municipality. That committee will come back to the council with a recommendation on whether the law would work in Demopolis, with or without changes.
The council also approved the capital spending as part of its FY2017-18 budget.
