Friday, August 18, will be a fun night for Demopolis High School as the DHS Quarterback Club and Band Boosters team up to host the Demopolis High School Tiger Pride Club Cow Patty Bingo event ahead of Meet the Tigers Night, which starts at 7 p.m.

The Cow Patty Bingo starts at 5 p.m. and will take place on the DHS side lawn. There will be concessions and bounce houses for the younger Tiger fans.

As for the bingo event, tickets to participate are $100 each, which includes a chance to win one of four prizes. The first “plop” will give the winner $250; the second, $500; third, $1,000; and the final plop is $5,000. Only 225 tickets will be sold.

“We’re going to have a fenced off area at the high school with two or three cows,” said Jeff Holly of the Quarterback Club. “There will be a grid pattern laid out in the grass that will allow the cows to meander and handle their business.”

Holly explained the importance of the event saying, “We’re doing this in conjunction with the Band Boosters and Quarterback Club to consolidate our efforts to host this event. We thought it’d be a good night to have it with it being Meet the Tigers night.”

The idea for this fundraiser came from DHS Head Coach Brian Seymore, who had a friend successfully hold a similar event at another school system. Both booster clubs talked about it and decided to take Seymore’s vision and idea to do the fundraiser.

While this is going on, Meet the Tigers will allow the community to watch the varsity football team participate in specific drills and situational plays. Also, all of the fall sports athletes from DHS and Demopolis Middle School will be recognized as well as the 2017-2018 DHS Cheerleader Squad.
