Lady Tigers take two from Clarke County

Game 1: Demopolis 7, Clarke County 0
The Demopolis Lady Tiger softball team recently took a doubleheader from the visiting Lady Babes of Clarke County.
Kelly Keasler (6-6) picked up the win in the first game by tossing two hit ball over six innings of work. She struck out nine while walking none.
Justina Quinney pitched the final inning of play to complete the game for Demopolis.
DHS scored four runs in the fourth inning to set the tone of the afternoon. Brittany McGee singled. Breanna McCrory then moved the runner with a sacrifice bunt.
Timie Lee picked up and RBI as she batted in Jannet Woods who was running for McGee. Heather Wright then singled. Lee would score on a double by Quinney.
Kelly Keasler would follow with a walk and Lauren Roark would be hit by a pitch. Quinney would score on a passed ball while Keasler
would score on a ball hit by Suzann Wommack.
The home team would add three more runs in the sixth inning to seal the win. Keasler would lead off the inning with a walk. She would later score on a hit by Wommack.
After a sacrifice bunt by Katie Simmons, Brittany McGee earned a walk.
Wommack would then score on a hit by Breanna McCrory.
Timie Lee singled home McGee to complete the scoring.
Game 2: Demopolis 3, Clarke County 1
Breanna McCrory (2-0) picked up the win in the nightcap of the series as she limited the visitors to four hits while walking one.
DHS (20-9) surrendered a run in the top of the first inning but quickly responded with a run of their own. Missy Hubbard doubled and then moved to third on a sacrifice fly by Katie Simmons. Hubbard would then score as India Chancelor reached base on a error.
The Lady Tigers pushed the lead to 2-0 in the bottom of the third. Breanna McCrory started the inning with a walk.
Hubbard then moved the runner to second with a sacrifice bunt. After a passed ball, Heather Wright, running for McCrory, would score on a sacrifice by Katie Simmons.
The Tiger offense would tack on one final run in the bottom of the fourth. Brittany Thorne doubled and moved to third on a passed ball. She would then score on a ball hit by Colee Barley.
Demopolis 3, Central-Tuscaloosa 1
The Lady Tigers(21-9) recently traveled to Tuscaloosa to battle with the Lady Falcons of Central and came away victorious 3-1.
The offense came alive in the 1st inning as they scored two runs.
Kelly Keasler reached on an error.
After stealing second base, she would score on a ball hit by Suzann Wommack.
Katie Simmons then singled to move the runner.
Wommack then scored on a ball hit by Brittany McGee.
Central scored their run in the 5th inning as Demopolis committed some errors.
However, the Lady Tigers added an insurance run in the top of the 7th.
Heather Wright singled and then advanced to third after a Justina Quinney single and Central error.
After a walk by Keasler, Wright would score on a hard hit grounder by Lauren Roark.
Roark(7-2) picked up the win for the Lady Tigers by allowing one hit over five innings of work.
She walked four and struck out 3.
Quinney picked up her first save of the year as she finished the game for Demopolis.
She struck out five and walked one in relief.
Demopolis falls to Tuscaloosa County 2-1
In their first game after spring break, the Lady Tigers(21-10) were upended by the Lady Wildcats from Northport.
Both teams scored in the 2nd inning to set the tone for the afternoon.
The Demopolis run came after Brittany McGee gathered a one out single.
She would move around the bases as Breanna McCrory and Missy Hubbard both singled.
A sacrifice fly by Latoya Dill then scored McGee.
The Demopolis bats then fell silent to the scoreboard.
A throwing error in the 7th inning would allow a Lady Wildcat to score and make the difference. Kelly Keasler(6-7) suffered the loss for Demopolis.
She gave up three hits while striking out 11.
