J. W. (John) Webb
Demopolis
J.W. (John) Webb, 67, of Demopolis, died Saturday, September 21, 2002, at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital.
Services were held Tuesday, September 24, 2002, at First Baptist Church with Dr. Rex Kent officiating.
Burial was held in Demopolis Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors.
He was a native of Coffeeville, Ala. and a resident of Demopolis for many years. He worked for the U.S. Corps of Engineers for 30 years and was a great lover of the outdoors, including fishing, hunting and raising a garden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew Webb and Ruby Sellers Webb.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma H. Webb of Demopolis; two daughters, Jackie C. (Paul) Malone of Demopolis and Janice C. (Scott) Grindle of Phoenix, Ariz.; five sisters, Bessie Goodman of Thomasville, Nell Webb Simmons of Mobile, Dimple Webb Maddox of Dothan, Dolly Webb Lindsay of Monroeville and Rosie Webb McLendon of Troy; two brothers, Leon Webb of Mobile and Matthew Webb Jr. of Mobile; two grandchildren, Brian and Amy Malone and Donna and Jonathan Grindle.
Pallbearers were Paul Malone, Brian Malone, Punk Williams, Tommy Malone, Kevin Michael Simmons and Blair Baker.
Honorary pallbearers were Red Chiles, Myles Mayberry, Jessie McBrayer, Curtis Smelley and Lamar Haynes.

Lillie V. Finch
Mrs. Lillie V. Finch, 77, of Eutaw, died Sunday, September 15, 2002, at the N.H.C. Nursing Home in Anniston.
Services were held Saturday, September 21, 2002, at St. Matthew Baptist Church in Boligee with Rev. Robert Davis officiating.
Burial was held in the St. Matthew Cemetery under the direction of Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors.
She is survived by a sister, Rosie L. Turner of Munford; one nephew, John Davis of Munford; three nieces, Joann Russell and Nancy Russell, both of Munford, and Ida Collins of Chicago, Ill.; and a host of step-children, relatives and friends.
Master Tommy Mays
Forkland
Master Tommy Mays, died Sunday, September 15, 2002, at Baptist-Princeton Medical Center in Birmingham.
Graveside services were held Friday, September 20, 2002, at the Ebeneezer Cemetery in Forkland with Rev. William Branch officiating and under the direction of Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors.
He is survived by his parents, Carolyn Mays and Tommy Jones of Forkland; seven siblings; a grandmother, Louise Mays of Forkland; four aunts; six uncles; and a host of other relatives and friends.
James Moore
Forkland
James Moore, 54, of Forkland, died Saturday, September 21, 2002, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.
Services were held Saturday, September 21, 2002, at the Lloyd Chapel Baptist Church in Forkland with Rev. Clayborn May officiating.
Burial was held in the Lloyd Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors.
He is survived by three sisters, Mattie L. Crenshaw, Willie Mae (Rev. Robert) Davis and Fannie Mae (Reuben) Parker, all of Forkland; two brothers, Sidney (Robin) Moore of Albany, N.Y. and Benjamin (Avis) Moore of Birmingham; and a host of relatives and friends.
John Wright
Serena, Ca.
John Wright, of Serena, Ca. and a former native of Coatopa, died Monday, September 23, 2002, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Palo Alto, Ca.
Services will be held at the Bethel-Pine Baptist Church in Coatopa with Rev. Floyd O. Bell officiating. The time and date of the service will be announced later.
The burial will be under the direction of Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors.
He is survived by three brothers, Wilbur Wright of Coatopa, Jesse Weight of Demopolis and Earnest Wright of Forkland.
