Eloise Williams Rutledge, born August 24, 1919 in Opelika, Alabama, joined her beloved husband Frank on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015.
Everyone knew her as Toni and she lived a very full and rich life and will be missed greatly. She met Frank, then known as Rut, while at API (Auburn University) and married after War World II, moving to Demopolis where she lived until 2013. After Frank passed away she moved to Slapout, Alabama to be near her family.
She was an avid gardener, artist, traveler, and bridge player. However, her favorite pastime was being with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who lovingly called her “Tutoo.”
She is survived by her daughter, Robin Rogers (Steve); son, Rut Rutledge (Jo); grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Matt Rogers (Erin), Rutledge, Gaines, and Pearson; Pearson Rogers (Elisha), Clayton and Cannon; Dashiell Miller (Norman), Campbell, Caroline, and Robert Woodward; Allston Macon (Blake), and John Macon (Sarah), Scarlet and Anne.
There will be a memorial service at Trinity Episcopal Church in Wetumpka on Friday, Nov. 13 at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends in the Parish Hall at 9 a.m. A private burial service will be held at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Gallion.
