Demopolis police officers responded to a four-vehicle accident Tuesday night at Highway 80 and Tiger Lane.
The accident occurred at approximately 6:21 p.m., according to a press release from the Demopolis Police Department.
According to the release, a witness reported that a black Infiniti left Murphy’s parking lot at a high rate of speed traveling east on Highway 80, which resulted in the Infiniti running into the back of a 2007 Nissan Altima. A 1999 Ford F-250 was stopped at the red light and was also hit by the Infiniti, which caused it to hit a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer.
Each driver was transported to Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Infiniti was issued citations for no proof of insurance and having a switched tag.
No other information is available at this time, but DPD said more charges may be forthcoming.
