Funeral services for Marcella “Marty” Cromheecke Pearson, 62, of Lithia Springs, Ga., were held Sunday, Dec. 28, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Bumpers Funeral Home in York with the Rev. Richard Scott officiating and her son John Marshiel Pearson doing the eulogy.

Burial followed in Demopolis Memorial Gardens.

Marcella was laid to rest next to her son, John Paul Pearson. Visitation was held at Bumpers Funeral Home on Saturday, Dec. 27 from 6-8 p.m.

Mrs. Pearson passed away Thursday, Dec. 25, at Wellstar Douglas Hospital in Douglasville, Ga.

Survivors include her husband, John Charlie Pearson of Lithia Springs, Ga.; son, John Marshiel (Heather) Pearson of Texas; daughters, Charissa Rushing of Hazlehurst, Ga., Holly (Scott) Ross of Biloxi, Miss., and Elizabeth (Brandon) Smith of Demopolis; brother, Gery Cromheecke; sister, Melaine Reinhart of Rochester, N.Y.; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshiel and Eugenia Cromheecke; son, John Paul Pearson; and two sisters, Holly Cromheecke and Charmine Rusker.

Pallbearers were Sim Pearson Jr., C.W. Fisher, Walter Pearson, Scott Ross, Chase Rushing and Michael Shelton.
