The Alabama School of Fine Arts will perform a musical in Demopolis next month featuring a broad range of music.

The Two Rivers Arts Council will host ASFA at the Demopolis High School auditorium Thursday, Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m. Students from ASFA will perform in a pop concert that will feature music by The Beatles, The Eagles, Led Zeppelin, music from the Motown era, as well as classical music. The performance will showcase the versatility of the orchestra and jazz ensemble.

“I saw them perform at an Alabama Humanities Foundation meeting earlier this year, and they are really impressive,” said TRAC President Morgan Allen. “Considering their ages, it’s impressive what they can do.”

She added that ASFA will also have tables set up at the event with information about their school for interested students and parents.

Tickets for the show are $10 for adults, and they can be purchased at the door. There is no charge for students and members of TRAC.

ASFA is a public school with the entire state as its district. The school admits students through application and audition, providing tuition-free instruction in six specialty areas: creative writing, dance, math and science, music, theatre, visual arts, plus a full college preparatory curriculum. Located in the heart of Birmingham’s downtown Cultural District, ASFA provides a dormitory for students living beyond commuting distance to campus.

This will be TRAC’s final event in 2014, and Allen said she was happy with the year the Council has had.

“You always want to accomplish more with funding, but our membership is up a little bit, so I’m happy with our year,” Allen said. “We’ve got some good shows lined up for 2015, so I’m excited for the upcoming year.”

The following is a tentative calendar for TRAC’s 2015 events:

•Thursday, Jan. 22 – Dolores Hydock and Bobby Horton’s “A Sweet Strangeness Thrills My Heart”

•Friday, Feb. 20 – Della’s Dinner at Old School Theatre, presented by Springer Theatricals

•Tentative for March – Steinway pianist Don Irwin

•Spring or summer program – BJ Reed, a jazz musician from Tuscaloosa
