Four of the six local high schools appear in this week’s Alabama Sports Writers Association top 10 polls.

Sweet Water, Linden, A.L. Johnson and Marengo Academy all made their respective top 10s, while Demopolis and Marengo High School are on the outside looking in.

In Class 2A, Sweet Water is ranked No. 6 with a 1-1 record.

In Class 1A, Linden is ranked No. 4 with a 1-1 record and A.L. Johnson, also 1-1, is ranked No. 6 in the polls.

In the AISA top 10, Marengo Academy is ranked No. 7 with a 1-1 record.

Although Demopolis is not inside the top 10, they did receive votes in the poll.

Demopolis, Sweet Water, A.L. Johnson and Marengo High School will be in action this week with Marengo Academy and Linden on byes.
