Cecil Esther Barr, 80, of Linden, died Friday, October 17, 2003, at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital.
Graveside service were held Monday, October 20, 2003, at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Nanafalia with Rev. Doug Turner and Rev. Bill Ballard officiating and under the direction of O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden.
Ms. Barr was born July 22, 1923 in Nanafalia. She was a seamstress with Vanity Fair, a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed telephone conversations with her many friends.
She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by two sons, Jimmy Smith of Sweet Water and Ray Smith of Nanafalia; four brothers, Lloyd Evans Parten of Nanafalia, Rhett Parten, formerly of Nanafalia, Marshall Parten of Thomasville and Ronnie Parten of Snell, Miss.; four sisters, Mary Ballard of Evergreen, Earline Coody of Butler, Evelyn Luker of Thomasville and Ann Guin of Mt. Sterling, Ala.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
