Youth baseball all-star district tournaments getting under way

The Alabama Babe Ruth League District 10 tournaments began Friday night with the 11-year-old All-Stars.
Demopolis and Sweet Water faced off in Sweet Water for the first game of a three-game series. On Saturday at 4 p.m., game two will be played at the Demopolis SportsPlex with game three following if necessary.
Both Demopolis and Sweet Water will advance to the state tournament since they are the only two teams in the 11-year-old tournament. The 11-year-old and 12-year-old state tournaments will be played in Demopolis beginning Saturday, June 28.
The 8U All-Star tournament will begin Monday, June 2 with teams from Demopolis, Linden, Butler, Sumter County and Sweet Water competing. The championship series will begin Monday, June 9 at 5 p.m. with the highest seed hosting.
The 10U All-Star tournament will also begin Monday, June 2 with teams from Demopolis, Butler, Sumter, Greensboro and Sweet Water competing. The championship series will begin Monday, June 9 at 5 p.m. with the highest seed hosting.
The 12-year-old tournament also begins Monday with teams from Sweet Water, Valley Grande, Demopolis, Butler, Sumter and Greensboro competing. The championship series will begin Monday, June 9 at 5 p.m. with the highest seed hosting.
