Demopolis soccer ends season undefeated in region play

Two wins over Parker High School on Wednesday gave the Demopolis High School soccer team an undefeated record in the region.
The Tigers played a double header on the road at Parker and won both games 10-0. Head coach Brad Daniels said the team had more than 45 shots on goal in each of the two games.
In the first game, Jeremy Chu, Christian Corbitt and Jose Maravilla had two goals each to lead the way for Demopolis. Cristian Velez, Oscar Valdivia, Ashley Dunn and Adam Brooker each added one goal as well.
Tommy Boutwell, Austin Brooks, Zachary Chu and Dunn each had an assist in the game. Austin Beckum had four saves and Tommy Cristwell had two.
In the second game, Brooker led the way with a hat trick, followed by Brooks with two goals. Velez, Valdivia, Zachary Chu and Logan Fendley each had one goal. Brooks and Dunn each had an assist.
The Demopolis defense didn’t allow a shot on goal in the game.
The wins put the Tigers’ final record at 13-3-1 overall and 4-0 in the region.
Demopolis will host in the first round of the playoffs Tuesday, April 29, but the opponent has yet to be determined.
