Troy Bass Fishing Association hosting Demopolis tournament

The Troy University Bass Fishing Association will host a fishing tournament at the Demopolis City Landing on Saturday, April 19.
The entry fee is $80, and there are prizes for first through fifth place as well as for the big fish.
The pre-tournament meeting will begin at 6:15 a.m. and boat launch will be at 6:30 a.m. Weigh-in will be at 3 p.m.
For a 40 boat field, the prize for first place would be $1,000. Second place would be $500, third would be $300, fourth would be $200 and fifth would be $100. The prize for big fish is $20.
There are a few rules for the tournament, and they are as follows:
•All bass must be at least 12 inches long
•There is a five fish limit
•No trolling, live bait or fishing within 50 yards of another boat
•All anglers must wear life jackets anytime the engine is running
•There is a 4-ounce weight deduction for each dead fish
•There is a 2-pound weight deduction for showing up after 3 p.m.
•Final call will be at 3:10 p.m.
•Showing up after 3:10 p.m. results in disqualification
Troy Bass Fishing Association will check all live wells before the start of the tournament.
