Vera Emma Glover Harper

Vera Emma Glover Harper, 94, of Franklin, N.C., and formerly of Greensboro, died Saturday, March 29.

She was a native of Eutaw and the daughter of the late Joseph E. Glover and Vera Singley Glover. She was a homemaker, loved spending time with her family and sharing family values with them. She loved fishing, working in her flowers, and had a strong farming history. She was a member of the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Perry County.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Walter Harper; son, Charles Edgar Harper; and six brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children, Jackie Harper Pilkerton of Franklin, N.C., Martha Harper Rogers of Asheville, N.C., and Walter Glover Harper of Mobile; 12 grandchildren, Karen Hamm, Kendall Adams, Dawn Stacy, Daphne Steider, Bert Hamm, Darryl Harper, Valerie McClendon, Rodney Harper, Kim Gottschall, Charles Pilkerton II, Tommy Pilkerton and Chad Pilkerton; and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 1 at 2 p.m. in the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Greensboro with the Rev. Arthur Thomas officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the church.
