Ask any football coach who has ever won a championship, and he will tell you that the game of football is a matter of inches and those inches are won on the line of scrimmage.

Tonight, that theory will again be put to the test as the 13-0 Trinity Wildcats come to town for the 4th round semi-final playoff match up. They bring with them one of the best defensive fronts in the state.

This Wildcats’ front stands strong with an average height of 6’3 and a combined weight of 950 lbs. They are not only big, but also large in stature, but quick to get off the ball. If one doesn’t get you, the other three will, as they have combined for total of 19 sacks. Controlling this hefty fearsome foursome will be left up to the DHS offensive line tips the scales at 1,325 lbs.

The Tiger front five will have to double team and block low on these taller defensive linemen in order to stop the pass rush and open some holes to run through. The Tigers have been working hard in practice all this week working on blocking low.

The other key match up of the game will be the ability of the Demopolis Secondary to shut down the Wildcats key target no.35 6’4 Tommy Trott, who has 53 catches for 978 yards and 10TDs

"We have to shutdown no.35 with good technique and breaking to the ball. They will be looking to throw to him," said Coach Pittman, Tiger Secondary Coach.

Trott is the Wildcats’ major weapon besides the man that throws the passes to him no.16 Rory McKean.

The Tigers will have to cover him and watch that Mckean doesn’t take off with the ball himself, as he is the 2nd leading rusher on the team.

The Tigers have been working hard in practice on the option pitch and gang tackling on bigger opponents.
