The Demopolis High School soccer team kept their hot streak going with a win and a tie over the weekend in Mobile.
The Tigers played a double header against Saraland and Murphy on Saturday, defeating Saraland 4-0 and tying Murphy 1-1.
“I’m very proud of our team,” head coach Brad Daniels said. “We played three tough opponents in less than 24 hours. They kept their composure in some difficult situations, and I’m pleased with the performance of everyone.”
In the win over Saraland, the Tigers had 30 shots on goal. Cristian Velez scored two goals in the game, and Austin Brooks and Adam Brooker each added a goal.
In the 1-1 tie with Murphy, Brooks scored the only goal for the Tigers. Austin Beckum had a career game with 18 saves in goal. Daniels said the team had 12 perfect defensive sets during the game.
The team was scheduled to play another double header in Mobile on Saturday, March 15, but the two games against Fairhope and Foley were cancelled. The Tigers’ next game will be Friday, March 21 at 2 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.
