DMS teams defeat Paramount Monday night

Some of the best basketball action around the area right now is being played at the middle school level, as both of the Demopolis Middle School boys and girls’ basketball teams are currently undefeated with eight games left to play.
The DMS boys knocked off the Paramount Junior High Tigers in blowout fashion 67-26 on Monday night. While the DMS girls won a hard fought contest over the Tiger girls 39-23.
The DMS girls (6-0) tipped off the night of round ball action off with the girls of Paramount. The DMS Tigers were making shots from all over the court. They also put together a great defensive effort from all five of the starters.
The Paramount Girls were no match for the speed of the DMS girls.
Jasmine Simmons led the DMS Tigers with 9 pts. Shay Smith and Valissa Sams both chipped into the scoring action with 7 and 6 pts each. This is win number seven for the girls of DMS, who are coached by Keesha Jamison.
The DMS Boys (6-0) finished off the night with a stellar win over the Paramount Boys. Nothing could stop the onslaught of points from the DMS boys as just about every shot for the Tigers went in.
Casey Candy was lethal from anywhere in the building and the DMS defensive effort was awesome. Casey Candy led all scorers with 22 pts. Jack Rainey and Patrick Roberson had 13 and 12 pts each for DMS. This is also win number seven for the boys of DMS, who are coached by Rollie McCall Jr.
The unbeaten DMS Tigers will have to travel this Friday to face their next opponent the Sunshine Tigers.
