Demopolis City Schools, Marengo County Schools and Linden City Schools will be closed all day Tuesday due to the threat of winter weather.

Demopolis Superintendent Dr. Al Griffin said after speaking with Marengo County EMA Director Kevin McKinney and the other superintendents in the county, the decision was made to let school out early Tuesday.

He added that a decision would be made for Wednesday by 6:30 a.m. that day.

“The falling weather should be past and we will evaluate road conditions accordingly,” he said.

Snow is expected to arrive in the Marengo County area between 10 a.m. and noon Tuesday and continue into early Wednesday morning.

Wednesday temperatures are not expected to rise much over freezing, so any accumulation may not clear out until Thursday.
