Hoover Police have released more details about a fatal shooting during an Iron Bowl party at an apartment complex.
The shooting occurred at about 7 p.m. Nov. 30 at the Summerchase at Riverchase apartments at 100 Summerchase Drive. Two women, both Alabama fans who did not know each prior to the party, got into a disagreement of some kind after the game ended, Hoover Police spokesman Capt. Jim Coker said in a Dec. 1 news release.
“The argument moved to the parking lot, and became a physical altercation on the ground. The victim was shot with a small caliber handgun,” Coker said.
The Shelby County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as 36-year-old Michelle Shepherd, a Demopolis native but resident of Birmingham, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect, Adrian Laroze Briskey, 28, of Birmingham has been charged with murder.
Shepherd’s sister told al.com that her sister and the suspect never touched each other or “had words.” Read her account: http://blog.al.com/spotnews/2013/12/i_heard_her_take_her_last_brea.html#incart_2box
