The Alabama Youth Soccer Association (AYSA) Demopolis Soccer League has new leadership and a new mission for 2004.
Dr. Peter Keen took over as the new president of the AYSA Demopolis Soccer League board in December and already has established a new foundation for the future of soccer in Demopolis.
“We want to provide opportunity and encourage all participants to reach their fullest potential, learn team work and have a great fun-filled experience in the process,” Dr. Keen said.
Dr. Keen has been involved in youth soccer in the city of Demopolis since it’s birth eight years ago and would like to see the league take a new direction along with a new commitment.
The new board consists of an expanded group of committed, caring parents who have redesigned the program to provide stability and accountability. Dr. Keen will have board members working together as a team to provide the opportunity for the youth of the community to enjoy all the benefits from participating in a national affiliated league.
“We want to make this a more team oriented effort, where if one person drops the ball another is there to pick it up,” Dr. Keen said.
The 2004 season will offer a marvelous balance between competition and for fun play. Teams will be chosen and sized to minimize substitutions to accommodate an everyone plays philosophy.
